Authentify Wows Crowd with First Live Demonstrations of New 2CHK™ app for 'always on' Transaction Verification at Fall Finovate Conference

Representatives from dozens of banks representing 4 continents Surround Authentify's networking table after the successful demonstration.

NEW YORK City, September 21, 2011–- Authentify chose the stage at the Fall Finovate 2011 Conference for the first ever public demonstrations of its new Authentify 2CHK™ transaction verification applications. From the stage, Peter Tapling, CEO of Authentify demonstrated how 2CHK™ permitted him to use his mobile phone to protect his financial accounts from malware exploits as well as insider fraud. Following the demonstration, representatives from several dozen banks from 4 continents surrounded the Authentify networking table.

“The reception from the financial institutions in attendance validates the effort we put into this product," said Mr. Tapling. "The Authentify 2CHK™ service is designed to help financial institutions meet the FFIEC Supplemental Guidance for authentication in online banking environments. The supplement cites the need for broader use of transaction verification. That's important in the U.S., but we were really pleased with the reaction to convenient transaction verification from the international banking community as well.”

Authentify is introducing the 2CHK service to extend the capabilities of its existing phone-based out-of-band authentication products. The heart of 2CHK is a small app that can be downloaded to a mobile device or a user's desktop. 2CHK establishes a secure second communication channel to a banking platform's back office and securely transmits transaction details to a display in the app. The end user is in control of the final approval of transaction details as they will be executed by the bank. The continuous display and multiple form factors permit the end user to easily and securely verify all transactions against accounts with any financial institution employing the 2CHK service. 2CHK affords strong protection against malware that manipulates transactions in progress, such as man-in-the-middle attacks, or fraud in which account login credentials have been compromised via phishing or other means.
