Authentify™ Enhances SingleSignOn.Net’s Secure Identity Appliance™
Verification Technology Allows Real-Time, Two-Factor Authentication During Registration Process
CHICAGO, Ill - October 29, 2001 - Authentify, Inc.™, a leading provider of Internet identity solutions, and SingleSignOn.Net, a provider of innovative authentication related solutions, today announced that Authentify|Register™ has been integrated into SingleSignOn.Net’s Secure Identity Appliance™.
Unique to the e-security marketplace, SingleSignOn.Net’s digital certificate appliance can be used as a password/pin system, as well as a full-fledged PKI system based on their exclusive Practical PKI™ technology. The solution provides the security of PKI with the convenience and ease of use of passwords.
Authentify|Register has been implemented as part of a web-based registration process for first-time issuance of a SingleSignOn.Net digital certificate. Authentify|Register is combined with data on the user in this new registration process to enable a trusted, real-time authentication of the online user.
“Reliable verification of someone’s identity on the Internet is a significant challenge and one that grows greater as use of the Internet increases,” said Peter Tapling, president and CEO of Authentify, Inc. “The combined SingleSignOn.Net and Authentify offering provides customers with a valuable solution that is fast and easy to deploy at a low cost, with a stronger audit trail than what is currently available.”
Authentify|Register is an automated solution that enables organizations to perform real-time, two-factor user authentication during an Internet session using a standard web browser and telephone line. Authentify provides a strong audit trail of an entire online transaction.
“Authenticating the end-user is a critical step in the deployment of PKI,” said Ravi Ganesan, CEO, SingleSignOn.Net. “Authentify’s solution is a valuable addition to SingleSignOn.Net’s digital certificate appliance. Authentify|Register allows our customers to verify the user during an anonymous Internet transaction. By using the telephone as part of the process, Authentify provides a two-factor authentication which is faster and costs much less than alternative methods.”
